New Patient Waiting List for Adults
Our waiting list for new adult patients was opened on Friday 24th January 2025 and closed on Wednesday 29th January 2025.
We continue to take on children (under the age of 18). Please call into the clinic to complete a registration form and make an initial examination appointment. We are not able to register children over the telephone due to the busy nature of our reception desk.
Your registration with the Clinic
We encourage all patients to have routine, regular appointments in line with advice from their dentist. We have previously contacted patients who's registration with the practice is about to lapse. We will no longer be doing this and it will be the patient's responsibility to ensure they have an examination regularly to maintain their registration with us. (Your registration will lapse if you have not had an examination with us in the last two years).
You may have previously had an “Interim Care Monitoring” appointment with our dental therapist. NHS appointments with a dental therapist will be available, but patients will need to see a dentist first. The dentist will have to assess if the gum disease is active before the appointment with the therapist can be booked for disclosing, plaque scores and where needed pocket charts and treatment. The cost of this examination and follow-on appointment will be a Band 2 NHS charge, currently £75.30.
For patients whose gum health is kept stable by close monitoring and regular scaling to remove build ups before they make cleaning difficult, there is no indication to see a dentist at 6 months following NICE guidelines. We know that many of our patients value the care that our dental therapists provide. Therefore, if you wish to continue with regular hygienist appointments then these will be available privately at a cost of £50 for a 30-minute appointment. This charge will be increasing to £55.00 from the 1st April 2025.
If you have any general questions regarding the changes to our contract you can contact the Department of Health helpline on 01132002971 Email; dcrhelpline@pcc-cic.org.uk
If you have any specific concerns regarding your dental treatment, please email the practice hsdcreception@gmail.com or 01380 722711
Advice for unregistered patients requiring NHS Dental Treatment
We are participating in an NHS initiative to help people who have not been able to register with an NHS dentist. We have a limited number of spaces available each week, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
At your first appointment with us, the dentist will carry out an examination in order to assess your treatment needs. On arrival at the practice, you will be asked to sign a form to consent to this examination, complete a medical questionnaire and pay a Band 1 charge of £27.40 (unless you are exempt from payment). The dentist may start your treatment at this appointment if time allows. If the dentist is able to complete treatment during this visit without further appointments being necessary, you will be asked to pay the remainder of the Band 2 charge (£47.90) before you leave. Further appointments will be made to complete any treatment necessary. You will be asked to pay the remainder of the Band 2 charge at your first appointment for treatment, if this was not paid at your first visit. If you fail to attend an appointment during your course of treatment, we may not be able to offer further appointments to you.
When your course of treatment at the practice has been completed and you have had your last appointment with us, you will need to register with a dentist or contact 111 if you have an urgent problem. You will not be a registered patient at the practice. Please contact us on 01380 722711 for further information.
If you require urgent, emergency treatment and are not registered with the practice, please call 111.
